Maplewood Cemetery is committed to meeting the unique needs and wishes of every family that we serve. Our staff is ready to help you navigate the many options available to you as you choose a final resting place for you or your loved ones.

The decisions you will make and the costs you incur related to your cemetery needs fall into four general categories:

  • The location of spaces is an important consideration for many families. Often they want to keep family members close together. Some families want spaces that are easily accessible and prioritize spaces that are near a road. If space selection is a priority for you, we are available to explain your space options and walk you through the selection process. This is the best way to secure just the right space.

  • Burial vaults  are required for all ground burials (traditional or cremation) except scattering. Vaults come in a variety of types and prices and can be purchased here at Maplewood. When you purchase your vault from us the purchase price includes set-up (tent and chairs), lowering device, and artificial grass. When you purchase a vault from Maplewood, the price is locked in and is protected from future price increases.

  • The monument or memorial (headstone/tombstone/gravestone) that you need will depend on the type of burial that you choose and the exact location of your chosen space. In all cases you will have many opportunities for personalization. We consider it a privilege to guide you through the many options available, and we are confident that you will find the unique touches that will make the monument a meaningful tribute to your loved one. While you are in our office we will create a drawing of your monument so you will have a good sense of how the finished monument will look. Many design options are featured on this website.

  • The cost of opening and closing of a burial space is necessary for each type of burial, although the details of this process vary depending on the burial type. The charge for this service is higher for a Saturday service than a weekday service.

We encourage families to pre-pay for the above-mentioned items. Pre-paying – whether in full or in installments – locks in today’s pricing with no finance charge. You don’t need to choose and pay for everything at once. Selecting your space(s) is a great place to start.

Types of Burial

Maplewood is currently divided into more than twenty sections. Each section offers a uniquely peaceful setting and boasts its own unique history.

Mausoleum burial is the above ground placement of a casket. Mausoleums offer a very clean and dry final disposition. We recently completed construction on a new mausoleum building that offers a selection of various levels and types of crypts.

Cremation is the preparation of the body for “final disposition.” There are many burial options available when you choose cremation.
